Default s2k ap1 Clutch replacement EXEDY

Anyone know or have personal experience with the exedy clutch ? I'm having a mechanic install it for $950 with the clutch, is this a good price? My stock clutch is blown. I just got the car

Exedy oem clutch is the same as the stock oem one.

Good price if that includes the actual parts. I was quoted around 800 for labor alone... that's why I'm doing the clutch myself. Not a terrible job if you have the tools and know-how.

Just make sure it's not a replica but should not be a problem in case it's the mechanic that is buying it.

The exedy clutch is not an oem clutch kit. Maybe for other cars, but not the s2000. The clutch for the s2000 is made by FCC. When I made a comparison, when I changed my clutch, the oem Honda one is built much better. Plus the exedy kit uses cheap Chinese bearings. Just get an honda oem one with the oem bearings. If the mechanic is getting the kit, make sure he is giving you a very long warranty.

The Exedy OEM replacement is a good kit, just replace the bearings with OEM ones. I installed the Exedy KHC06 on my MY06 with the supplied bearings. About 14 months later the TO bearing split and failed. Had to drop the tranny JUST to replace the TO bearing. It's been fine since (2 years now and counting).

As stated before, make sure the kit is authentic, there are A LOT of counterfeits out there. Use OEM TO & Pilot bearing.
