Im still confused on how to get into the trunk? I mean if you go out somewhere and decide to pick something up unexpectedly can you just open the rear section and then open the trunk in a parking lot or do you need to have tools and remove the entire rear section?
the rear section is held on by two pins, it can be done in a parking lot but it takes two people to remove if you don't want to damage it. the pins just come out, no tools needed.

This is the pin.

No, not anymore. It did at first, but after some strategicly placed thin foam between the main section and rear section it went away. Every once in a while when I pull into a driveway sideways for example and the body flexes, it will do it.

Do you have a picture of the layout by chance?

Thanks for the info and pic. Looks like I may have to step away from going with this top. My S2 is my daily driver and I am constantly in and out of my trunk with my tools so even though I think this is the sexiest top that fact that there isn't like a hinge setup or anything means its probably a no go for me.

Oh yeah personally it is the best looking top by far when having the sides painted black or going with Shine's side windows but I have still not seen one in person. I would love to have a look at one in person to see if there is any way that the rear could have a shock and hinge setup added to it to allow some use of the rear.

If you could just manage to raise it like in this pic you would be fine.
