Installed a voodoo knob with red thread locker and I guess I used too much. Now I want to take it off to put on a new shift boot. It turned a little but now will not come off. I am afraid that the shift lever will snap. Any ideas? Or did I miss a thread on this already?

 

threads should be fine the knobs threads will mess up before the stock shifter. try turning it back and forth tighten it alot of times that will break the tread lock

 

Thread lock should give before anything would happen to shifter. Red loctite is very strong however. It's made to be permanent. If all else fails heat breaks it.

 

Heat gun carefully applied should do the trick. Used it on mine while working on the car in the winter in unheated garage.

 

Success. Took a Kobalt strap wrench from Lowe's and wrenched off. No scratches and came off very easily.

 

Next time use a dab of blue locktite!
