I believe that this whole global warming thing is natural.

For example "The Ice Age".

2012 is coming

Just because scientists said years ago that it was global cooling, does it nullify that it is not global warming right now. There is a large fallacy in that argument.

The people in that video claimed that global warming is false and that the catastrophes to follow are also false. However, they did not state that the world is not getting warmer. They did not disagree that the ice caps are melting. Based volume displacement alone one should know that sea levels are rising as ice melts.

I believe you view global warming = catastrophic events etc. No one can truly predict, and a prediction is exactly what it means, its a belief that it will happen. However, discrediting global warming, the idea that the earth is heating up and pollution does contribute to it is really non-sense.

time scale perspective... attempting to discern man's effect on planetary temperatures, based on measured warming over minuscule periods of time (tens or hundreds of years), is lunacy in the context of the earth's BILLIONS of years of existence, where it has undergone both periods of EXTREME hot and cold.

I help the environment by driving a 4 cyl 2200lb car... I am certain that my testpipe does less damage than the stupid bitch that drives an escalade.

The defense rests.

or the big ass dump truck that expels clouds of black smoke.

I thought cows farting caused global warming anyways.

Objection, your honor. The defense demonstrates its ignorance with this statement.

Catalytic converters control 3 main pollutants in exhaust - carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons (smog), and nitrogen oxides (smog and acid rain).

A lawnmower without a cat emits 93 times the pollution of a car with a catalytic converter, gallon per gallon. Without a cat, your car is polluting about the same as the mower. Actually, since proper A/F regulation by the ECU helps reduce CO and hydrocarbons in the exhaust, let's assume an S2000 with no cat "only" pollutes 50 times as much. The only way the escalade emits more than you is if he's getting 50x less gas mileage than you - about 1/2 mpg. In reality, you're probably polluting 25x more than the escalade, mile for mile.

And the irony of ironies is that as more and more people start skirting emission laws and installing test pipes, pollution will start to increase and we'll start having bad smog problems again. That will only lead to the next round of even stricter emissions controls and vehicle testing. Way to go, guys...
