Default Unknown Exhaust Modification

Hey guys, I picked up an S2000 pretty recently from a dealer(not the best idea, I know, but I got a really good price). I’ve been driving around and noticed that my exhaust completely opens up at vtec range and sounds really, REALLY loud. Like, illegal loud. When I start up and rev below vtec, the car basically sounds stock. It’s almost like a VES. I’ve ridden in other S2000s at vtec and know what stock is supposed to sound like. I took a glance under the car and the exhaust looks completely stock. Any idea what the previous owner could have done to the car to make it this way?

Total guess. A very large uk mod bypass pipe, with a motorized inline valve, wired w a relay triggered off vtec solenoid.

Put it on a lift.

Probably take more than your "glance" and our guesses about the underside.
