Thumbs up v2 worth it?

i've heard mixed opinions on this topic. seeing as buying a new v2 from aem is like $300+, i'm fairly hesitant.

i need some opinions from those of you who have the v2, and if it was worth the money, and what power did YOU gain? is it noticeable?

i'm going to buy an rs-r exhaust here in a few weeks or so, and was curious if i should buy this at the same time or not.

a CAI is one of the best power mods for the money, also helps reduce heatsoak.

BUT it makes your car vulnerable to hydrolock, have you thought about a K&N FIPK?

You will not feel the few horsepower gained by an intake. It will make the car sound different, if that's what you want.

Just get a knock-off Spoon snorkel off ebay for $100. That'll take care of the heat soak.

I do have a v2...it's no big deal and I sweat every time I drive through a puddle that just might be deep enough to let me suck water into the motor.

You probably will not hydrolock unless you drive through a puddle deep enough to submerse the filter, or if the filter becomes completely soaked with water.

The main thing you'll get from an intake is a different sound than stock, you won't really feel the gains from it as they're rather insignificant.

thanks for the input guys.

and from what i've seen. the stock intake isn't bad by any means. just a big chunk of engine bay space. i might save up for a while, just get the exhaust for now, high flow cat, and do smaller stuff like that later on.

thanks guys!

I had an AEM V2 on my car for about 2 weeks and sold it. Wasn't worth it in my opinion. I ended up just gutting the airbox, dropping in a K&N filter and got a replica snorkel. I feel a bit better throttle response but nothing crazy.
