what do u mean gutting the airbox?
"gutting the airbox" refers to gutting the plastic divder, between the air filter and the empty which is there to block any water that some how manages to get up there.

Oh okay thanks. I'm still debating whether:
-stock intake w/ replica snorkel(won't sound loud and throaty)
-AEM V2 intake(increased hydrolock risk)
-JDMpassword CF intake(damn expensive!! lol)

I've had my V2 for almost 2 years now and no issues with hydrolock even when I take my car to an automatic car wash. From what I've read in the past aslong as you don't drive your car into a lake you should be fine.
V2+tp+exhaust= sounds amazing!!

There are cases of people leaving the car out in the rain overnight, in the morning starting the car has caused hydrolocking.

To fix this, you need to plug the drain hole which stops the water channeling down onto the air filter.

Which drain hole is that? Isn't the filter sits underneath the headlight?

Yes, the hood has a water drainage channel, you need to plug it

There will be a hole at the end of the drainage channel, you plug that hole. The reason being is that hole sits above the air filter.

The snorkel looks nice. Gutting airbox + snorkel, here i come lol.

Not looking for power, just a little sound and response (although compared to my civic si (2008) the throttle response is freaking amazing already)
