So I installed those shitty ass side moldings that VIS provided. They fit like shit, so i'm going to buy the OEM weather stripping. Does anybody know if the OEM WEATHER STRIPPING, FITS GOOD?! Like does it fit perfectly to the mold?

Started the install yesterday. It doesn't fit too good and it is pain to get it aligned. The doors hit the HT. I'm going to buy some seal today for the rear and the front just preparing for any future issues.

a side note: mine came with different brackets, two parts unlike Greenman's one piece.

hhhmm by the sounds of that you will need the rear seal thick enough to raise the rear sufficiently for the doors to miss the HT, possibly the shims as well under the front latches that will give the slight extra height for the windows. Should be sweet then.

I'm shocked! I can't close the soft top! The brackets hit the soft top!
Is that engineering? If it was designed to be a replacement for the soft-top then why they made a two piece bracket like the OEM?

I'm gonna take em to a machine shop to cut some metal, I hope it works.

What do your brackets look like? Mine were just like the ones that LittleGreenMan has.

I doubt any of these brackets were made to be able to put the soft top up with them still attached.

I think that with the one piece brackets that VIS provided me with, as well as the MagicMounts stripping that I used in my install, gave the hard top enough rise on the sides and back that it needed to prevent the doors/glass or anything else hitting the top at any parts. The fact that my front windshield stripping was practically still almost new didn't hurt either I don't think.

Were the two piece brackets provided by VIS, or another company?

In reference to the putting up and down of the soft top with these brackets still attached, that wasn't how it was designed. You need to disassemble it every time you want to put it on or off. I think when they designed it they had in mind that if you wanted the hard top, 9 times out of 10 it probably meant you didn't have any use for the soft top and thus planned to remove it altogether, or you planned to keep the soft top installed, though installing the hard top on to the car with no plans to ever really take it off, thus continuously keeping it a coupe but with the soft top assembly remaining to keep the resale value as high as possible.

The best way to get the OEM fitment imo is achieved by using the OEM rear catches and pins. makes for quicker release on/off as well.

Thats what I have. My doors were actually hitting hard top also, so i put washers in my REAR OEM hardware, and it fixed it just enough.

All right, here are the brackets photos

Hardtop side

Car frame side

How the brackets holds each other

Position at which the soft-top hit the bracket

Tried to take out with a file but I need to go much further, I will take it to a machine shop and see what happens
