Default Voltex Type 2 install

As the title says, i am going to be installing a voltex type 2 on my s2000.

I’ve seen people mount them infront of the duckbills ( about an inch up from where the trunk rolls down) Which i am also running a BYS rear wing so i was wondering if this is ok?

I have also seen people mounting them about 3.5 inches up from where the trunk rolls down, what would the ideal mounting position of the wing be?

I am tracking the car so i do want something that will actually serve a purpose aero wise.

Thanks.

The farther back you mount it the more effective it will be due to the increased lever arm of the wing pushing down relative to the position of the rear wheels.

Thanks for the reply, so it would make sense to mount it just about an inch from the back of trunk.

If I recall correctly, the mounts for Type 2s will be angled for the S2000 trunk and you'll be able to see where it was intended to be mounted just by how it sits assembled. This depends whether you're mounting the mounts to the outside or inside of the wing element but honestly I don't think any novice track goer is going to notice the differences in downforce depending on location of your wing mounting compared to your wing angle. I would just mount the spoiler up where you think it looks good and you should be fine. Just be aware of the how close you attach the truck mounts to the edge of the trunk. I've had a few friends mount it too close to the edge and they ended up rubbing some of their paint on the quarter panels

From my research, you shouldn't mount it all the way back. It was intended to mount 1-2" away from the rear edge. But I couldn't find that information anymore.

my understanding is that it is mounted almost halfway up the trunk. It looks like crap though. I instead mounted mine off the OEM trunk holes and drilled the other holes around it to the far edge back of the trunk. Doing so I did not touch the OEM seals and I still have plenty of adjustment for the wing.If I could go back I would have mounted it 1 inch from the back to the oem trunk hole to the last hole on the bracket instead of the 3rd hole only because its a tight squeeze to the mounting nut on the bottom of the trunk. I am ok with this setup because using the CR mounting brace bracket the wing sits right on it. Zero movement

. I also did not line my bracket flush to the side .

This is what i did, i have a BYS duck bill on and mounted the voltex infront of it. Just about 1.5” from the back and i think it turned out good

its conflicting because studies show that having the wing are far off the car and high over the roof of the car yields the best performance like nine lives and many others. I think due to the universale design of the voltex they wanted you to bring it up 1.5 -3 inch from the back to get the most adjustment. I did not follow that and did it all the way back. It still have plenty of adjustment for my need but I can see the max adjustment is held back but I will never need that much for my application.
