so far i spend 440
got

aem v2 intake
-180
-used but with new filter and new tubes, couplers etc.

exhaust, invida n1 dual
-180 very good condition
-used
tein springs
-80 used
-used

but those bolt ons are useless. i gained like 8 hp max i bet,
intakes and exhaust dont give little to any hp gains.
so i wish that i had just saved a bit more and got kia gears.
+1 for gears, im saving up for them right now

i would get 4.56/4.57, or 4.77
just do a qwick search on forms for gears and find the one that will best suit you,
if you want fastest drag times i think that its 4.77 because you require one less shift
to max out

but it could be 4.56 gears, but im not too sure

You probably gained more around 3 HP, and would get 8 horse power if you tuned it, your gains as far as 8hp that your feeling is most likely the throttle response you get with a bolton. With a full bolt on set of Intake/ Headers/ Exhaust + a good tune = people HOPE to get around 13+

From what i read, 4.56's def would be better for the Ap2 since the gears are a little shorter than Ap1's and they would act like 4.65's or 4.77's in a Ap2.

Ask yourself a qeustion, how many times are you gunna hit above 135?? If higher numbers than that don't interest you, especially cuz its street driven, than defiantly go with the KIA Gears. Your sacrificing your top speed to USE that power throughout the lower range (of speed not rpms)
So this will make you go through your gears faster, shortening them. Im not sure exactly how much but for example if you got to 60 in second gear, you will DEF. be in third gear by the time you hit 60, but you'll get there alot faster.
4.56's will run you over a grand, Kia gears will be right around ur price range.
With this mod your not really GAINING any horse power, your just making how its being used differently. This is realy the only sensible mod to feel an increase in power without an EMS and since you have an 04 and a "Honda Reflash" wont cut it for tuning like 06+ your looking at around 1,000 just for the ECU than another 300 to have it tuned well.

Hehe yea after all the waiting and squandering my money on bolt ons and than looking into some drop in Cams with a gain, and i honestly think the dyno results off the Brian Crower Cams arent the drop in aspect.

Stock S2000 Vs S2000 with JUST gears, in a 1/4 mile it will be 1 1/2 cars difference.

So bolt on's don't do anything without a tune? So why does the HKS 75mm make 6 peak whp while making power EVERYWHERE in the powerband? Obviously to get the most out of the bolt on's you need a tune but to say they do nothing is just silly. After bolting on a 3" test-pipe, I felt an even bigger gain. Part selection is key.

I doubt you will get 6 horse power more, especially not to the wheel from just sticking the HKS 75MM on your car without a tune...
that 'increased horse power" is most likely the increased throttle response.

PLEASE prove me wrong with a dyno, i would looove that, it wud be my next mod than.

Actually he is right man, there is a dyno where someone made 6whp across the whole powerband with the OEM cat and ECU, which was quite impressive. Can't remember where that sheet was though. A 75mm single on our cars actually do a pretty good job of freeing up some power, and even more with a 3" test pipe. Also I highly doubt you will even feel any difference in throttle response just from an exhaust, even a 3".

an exhaust and intake WILL provide power without a tune. it logically HAS too with the correctley selected parts. a CAI and test pipe are two parts that do work well together. just make sure your test sizing matches your exhaust sizing and you WILL Make more power. removing a cat converter leans the car out more and so does an intake. im not saying alot from the intake but the test pipe i would say a decent amount. Being an ap1 can benefit from this because they do run very rich from factory. YES a tune does help and will provide the most of your mods by far. i know my car for a fact wouldnt have trapped 103.79 at 13.6 bone stock with a 2.260ft. mods at the time UNTUNED where ( fipk intake, 70mm test pipe and t1r 70mm catback).

Honestley i would suggest to you a test pipe, and also depending on where you live and how much it floods water, try and get a CAI of some sort like an aem v2. you can find them used for a great price of usually about 150 on the forum. a test pipe and intake will run you at about 250 dollars and you have 250 dollars to do what else you would like with.
