I know bits and pieces have been said on different threads I have read, for example someone said that cams should really be left stock on S2K because it's generally hard to find better performing ones

But I want a broader picture, are there engine parts that you believe should not be modded on an N/A s2000?

Do you think the same would go for a turbo?

If you plan on going N/A there's not really a part that you wouldn't want to mod, depending on how far you plan on taking it. If your goal is just a funner DD then no, cams (example) won't be a necessary or cost efficient mod.

Toda cams = a huge difference.

Strut**** bars are generally a semi-pointless mod, since we already kinda have one. But as someone said, a 25$ ebay will at the very least give you something to lean on.

I guess what I mean to say is; we bought a ~$30k car, it's not a veyron. Almost EVERY part can be improved on

Battery. No need to mod that.

from experience:

rotors/lines/superblue...made no difference whatsoever, at least for street driving.

trunk...aftermarket will never fit as good as oem, and there isn't any design out there that looks different enough from oem to justify purchase, huge hassle when you want to go back to stock.

flywheel...lighter flywheel makes shifting annoying (at times, depends on the driving situation), improvement in acceleration is negligible, amount of throttle reqd to pull off from a stop can be annoying (again, depending on driving situation), new rattles/vibrations are not worth it. wish i kept stock

 

I suppose I should restate that. Unless you plan on paying big bucks for a well crafted one, it's not a cost efficient mod on a street car. Front / Rear bumpersteer would be a much better suspension mod for the price/street car.

 

SS brakelines? seriously? Not even pedal feel? I'm planning to get one of 'em. my brakes now feel really spongy and weak, a friend told me it will improve the pedal feel even in street driving.


About the Toda Cams. Do you need some accompanying mod to feel the difference wit this? Like example, Stroker/ TB/ Intake Manifold? I/H/E is a given.

 

not even pedal feel...i got new pads, lines, and superblue fluid at the same time and it felt 100% the same as before...i was expecting this super hard pedal but i was disappointed. just stick with stock, save yourself $100 and know that you're not missing anything. maybe the track guys could argue with me, but for street driving i noticed no improvement. i got the stainless lines from Science of Speed.

what you probably need is a brake fluid bleed and new pads.

 

^^ thanks for the info man.. I already changed into ATE Dot 4s but it was still the same.. My pads are still 50% i think.. How many miles did you put on your s2k before changing the brakelines? Did you track it/ did some hard brakings wit the stock lines or no? I felt the major change in pedal feel after a lot of hard runs, felt like brake fade but except it didn't get any better after awhile.

 

Whiteflash, you meant Strut Bars. Swaybars are completely different.
