Default Boring a stock block

I'm in the middle of an NA project motor and need to have the machining work done. With the sstock block having FRM cylinder walls, does that mean that you cannot bore the stock block out and can ONLY sleeve it?

Thanks for your help!

you can bore it, pistons are only available up to 0.25mm oversize though. Piston to wall clearance on an NA motor needs to be 0.001 to 0.0015" inches.

You should have your machine shop contact the manufacturer of their honing equipment to obtain the proper stones. The process is just like anything else, just needs finer stones. The block bores very well on a standard boring bar.

Lmk if you need any pistons

Thanks man I really appreciate the input and I'll check with my shop about the tooling; I am definitely looking for pistons, do you have a set? If so, what and how much?

Have them check for out of round bores. I remember reading a few guys had issues having stock bores opened up for the rebuild pistons.

Every s2000 block I have seen needed to be bored to get the bores straight/round. Some are pretty close to round but they are always tapered pretty bad. I have 2 that were too ovaled to even use 0.25mm oversize pistons.
