well from my tuning experience when you hav a linear graph on going into vtec especially on a cammed F or K series its usually the sign of breather mods restriction... ie intake and exhaust....
last car i tuned upgraded to a 3" exhaust and gained 22whp @ peak

dude trust me take it what Brain Wadzi and Evans say...me you dont really have to believe (not qualified in their league) but if you dont want to change exhaust and fear you might not gain power just pull your test pipe and run a open header pull on the dyno... pretty sure you need some extra fuel added

Yah I looked under my car today. It's definitely not a 3 inch. Also Jeff told me a larger diameter intake would help. I ll start with a custom intake (3.5 inch) and go from there.

I do have a concern though. I think I am running rich. A friend driving behind me told me my car smells like gas. Also when I changed the spark plugs today I got a pretty good gas odor coming from the spark plug openings. is that normal? I never remembered smelling gas that strong when changing plugs.

look at this...
this car made 219whp with i/h/e bolt ons
205whp with same I/H/E bolts plus CAMS
2 tuners before me could figure what was wrong the blamed poor cam installation manufacturers defect etc etc... luckily i had this same experience with my F20c so i heard of the problem and told the guy to let me know one night when he's free im going to try something one his car... ill pay for dyno time since he had totally given up on his setup...
so same exact car lost 14whp after cams were installed....
i strapped his car on the dyno... unbolted his test pipe and added 10% of fuel across the fuel tables for starter... power went up to 225whp on the first run after open header...
finally we closed off with 231whp

You stroke a motor for tq, not hp and 180wtq is awesome! Most AP1's struggle to put down 130wtq stock.

So Kent, what you are saying is with cams you have to run atleast a 3 inch exhaust otherwise you are going to be losing power?
I also don't think my test pipe is 3 inch. Damn this car for being so low.
Should I start with a bigger exhaust or intake?
I dont want to put much money into this car since I probably will be selling it in a year.I was thinking maybe go with a Megan 3 inch plus Megan 3 inch test pipe. Sell my bc exhaust and Test pipe and hopefully break close to even.

Do a 4 inch cold air intake and 3 inch exhaust and a retune. You'll pick up 20hp

Before you start buying more stuff, how about a cylinder leak down test...may be it was build too loose...or the rings are not sealing properly... just saying...
