I understand STR class pts were upped to accommodate SPEC class, but if one class gets upped, shouldn't every class also get upped? It's only fair and staying true to the lap times separation, no?

If a lot of Modified guys are affected by the removal of negative points, then I also agree that it should be bumped up to 10.5.

 

Doug's car would be maxed out for stock class next year. I like that. Even though I took advantage of many free mods, I always felt that the rules allowed too much for a stock car.

So what about wide front fenders?
I would assume something like downforce fenders don't improve additional aero etc. But what about ASM/seibon/J's styled front fenders? I would assume those alleviate wheel well pressure and add df...0.25pts?

And since we talk about wide fenders, what about rear overfenders?
My take is that they act like wheel spats to a degree, but I find them mainly used for wheel clearance and that's it so 0 pts assessed?

I think this needs clarification too, since there are parts like ASM that offer midsection underbody but doesn't cover entirely (particularly, the tranny is left exposed)...so is this not counted as "full" underbody?

 

These new rules also pose some interesting combinations for the ultimate Street class setup:

1) Spec-S: probably the most balanced of the combinations. My money is that this will be the fastest setup.

2) Suspension-oriented:
2.00 = TEIN SRC or KW v3
0.50 = 17x9 Wheels
0.75 = 255/40R17 Non-Staggered Street Tire
0.50 = CR Rear Wing
0.25 = OEM AP2 Motor or Exhaust if AP1

3) Wingless Non-Staggered R-Comp:
0.50 = 17x9 Wheels
0.75 = 255/40R17 Non-Staggered Street Tire
2.50 = Nitto NT01 R-Compounds
0.25 = OEM AP2 Motor or Exhaust if AP1

4) Winged Staggered R-Comp:
2.50 = Nitto NT01 R-Compounds
1.00 = APR GTC-200 Wing
0.25 = Exhaust
0.25 = OEM AP2 Motor or Test Pipe if AP1
