700 & 650 - Stock sways

Although, I'm thinking about removing the wing and using a FSB instead only for our ROVALs events since the wing is like a big sail.

Stock bars (2001 AP1) with 800/600 springs.

For reference, here is list of stock spring and bar rates by year:
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/960...way-bar-rates/

So I may have more front spring bias than Pat, but his bars have more of a front bias than mine, probably covering some of the gap.

Mahjik, what year is your car? Are you saying you would drop the wing points and use them for sways instead on those tracks? I can't comment on the rest of the Central Region ROVALs, but I can almost guarantee not having the wing at Gateway would be a mistake.

David, you know the car well, it's Aaron's old car. I didn't get a chance to say hello last year at Gateway due to the amount of HPDE students we had.

Yes, I'm thinking about dropping the wing points for the FSB but I'm mainly referring to Kansas Speedway. My top speed was well down from the others who dropped their wings for the event. I knew the car would be a handful without the wing but didn't have time to adjust the setup to account for it. I just kept the wing on and tried to make up for it in the infield (which didn't help). Since it's only one event currently, I may not bother but it would be nice to experiment a little.

I do agree with you on Gateway even though that was my first time last year running the track.

I just looked up the Kansas layout...it looks like mostly oval! You'll have to let us know how the no wing experiment goes.

I'll look for you in April at Gateway!

Anyone think there is anything to be gained from this 0 points mod?

g. Aerodynamics
1) Undertray/ belly pan forward of the centerline of the front axle
I'm getting rid of the splitter but thinking of replacing it (using most of the same hardware) for an undertray that goes all the way back to the front axle. I'm doing this partially since the hardware is already there, I tore up the plastic oem pieces, and it would be maybe $40 worth of wood and paint.

This is on my pre-season list as well. Probably just going to order a stock splash shield (74111-S2A-000) for ~$50 shipped from Majestic rather than materials and time to make a non-splitting splitter. Your idea wouldn't hurt the aero, though, but probably not a noticeable gain over stock plastic without other point-costing underbody smoothing/flow shaping.

I don't see that doing anything more than the stock splash shields. Just a note though, remember to put louvered vents or something between the radiator and axle.

800 front 900 rear stock bars.
Not only can I tell you, but I can show you how it will go if you take your wing off and you're running a splitter...
Kyle, if you take your wing off on the roval, ditch your splitter with it. You're running a square tire setup right? should be enough to get it to turn in. Id just set the wing at 0.
Both of these lotus's tried it... they both spun. the blue one right in front of me while I was catching him up
