2015 S2K Challenge Round #3 Chuckwalla
The 3rd round of the 2015 S2K Challenge will be at Chuckwalla Raceway on Saturday March 28th.
The newest track so SoCal Chuckwalla is billiard table smooth and has tons of runoff. Nestled between Palm Springs and Phoenix AZ Chuckwalla draws competitors from Arizona as well as SoCal for this event. So pack a lunch, jacket and sunscreen because there isn't much around besides beautiful new pavement.
Format will be FTD. Up for a vote on sessions 2 & 3 or 2-4 counting.
Sign ups are limited as this event always sells out. http://www.speedventures.com/events/...il.aspx?id=511
14 already signed up for Saturday!!! Should be a great event.

Round 3 was held in the blistering heat of the Coachella valley. With temperatures reaching 101F the early sessions were more important than ever. 7 S2K’s signed up for the event while a few more were spotted around the paddock. Sign up people!!! Its FREE!!! One lurker was a race prepped car conducting a K-swap shake down!!! We can’t wait to see this thing on full tilt.
Stock Class had one lonely competitor Julio Gorge. Not only did Julio take the top spot he also took some great photos of the action! Thanks for sharing Julio!
Street Class had the 2014 Stock Class Champ holding on tight to the #1 spot. Christopher Gau missed the top spot by a little over a second. Christopher set a 2:14.644 for 2nd Place. Ryan Delgrosso 2:13.333 earned him the win. Rumor has it Ryan is prepping for an Aero upgrade and non-heat cycled out tires in the near future! Should be fun to see what class he moves up to.
Modified Class had only 2 competitors. AJ Jaquias clocked a 2:17.711 in his wingless S2K prior to shearing off a wheel stud. It would have been interesting to see how low he would have gone without the issue. Ted Park took home the win with a 2:05.457. This is Ted’s second consecutive win in Mod Class. Congrats!
Super Mod had the usual 3. Dave Lara was in Big Bore. Dave was grouped with some high powered Corvettes on full race slicks. It took Dave a few laps to create enough space to find a clean lap. Dave’s 2:05.140 earned him the 3rd spot. Second place went again to Dustin Dessero. Dustin managed a 2:01.983, over a second off the winning time and a full 5 seconds off his personal best at CVR. #racerexcuse34. But the fast time of the event again went to Chris Elders. Chris managed a 2:00.891 with his splitter-less car. Chris discovered that a Semi’s tire tread will always win against an S2K splitter. Tread 1 Splitter 0. After removing the carnage and a bag of zip ties, Chris kept it together for the win.
Round 4 is on April 12th at the ever popular Buttonwillow CW13. This potentially could be the last sub 80F day till late fall. So SIGN UP feed the addiction!
