Default 4 point harness

Where in a stock S2k,( no roll bar added), can the 2 shoulder belts be mounted? If there is an aftermarket roll bar can I use either method as shown below or do they have to be bolted? Pics of the mounting location would help, thanks.

Don't add shoulder belts without a proper roll bar. Period.

Unless you are short, your head will be above the top of the roll hoop. If you have upper body restraints, you can't duck in a roll over accident. Your HEAD is the point of contact with the pavement, not the roll hoop. So, don't do it.

Don't use a 4-pt harness without an aftermarket rollbar unless you think your neck is strong enough to hold up the car in a rollover.

And aside from that, just don't use 4 points, period. Use a 5 or 6 point (the frame rail under the driver's seat of the S2000 somewhat pushes you toward using a 6 point). Do a search, there are several threads about why a 4 point can be dangerous as well as threads about why you shouldn't run a harness without a rollbar or cage, etc.

Thanks for the info.
I was going to add a roll bar seeing that with a helmet my head is well above the factory roll hoops. Cusco? I can easily an anti submarine strap as well since I have a Bride racing bucket that has yet been installed. Will the power top still work with the Cusco roll bar or am I going to have to add a HD?

Elda Engineering in Conn. makes a great rollbar. You can still use your soft top. It has a removable diaganal brace and a removable horizontal bar for your shoulder harness. With bars removed you have full access to the 2 (glove?) compartments and still have the benefit of a rollbar on the street. Also comes with a bag to put the braces in. Powdercoated black.
