I have had issues with the Longacre toe plates hitting the stock AP1 rear wheels. This allows the plate to wobble and makes measurement difficult. If you rotate the wheels so two spokes are symetrically pointing toward the ground then it will work. Although not hard, this adds some more time to the process.

I'm doing my first alignment/cornerweights and was hoping someone could give me some input on whether what I've got so far is alright. I know I can do better, but I'm running out of time before my first event of the year. Everything measured here is with me in the car.

weight 694 639
670 610

cross 50.2% 1309
left 52 1363
rear 48.9 1279
total 2612

alignment -2.2 -2.3 toe 0 I havent done caster yet
-2.4 -2.8 toe 3/16

I know I can do better, in time, but where would you concentrate on making it better? And any tips on getting more camber in the rear, I'm already lowered a little on KW's.

Are those corner weight figures with you in the driver's seat? The total weight seems low.

Yes they are, it's 2458 with about 3-5gallons of gas in it, but without me. It's stripped for racing. I actually have to get that up to 2625 by Fri. Guess the passenger seat is going back in for now.

Ok. That explains it. Mine's 2,910 with me in it and half a tank of gas. I weight $1.50 wet. I also got 49.5% cross weight, which was 7 pounds off from 50%. My left side's also heavier than the right, and but my back (50.8%) was heavier than the front. Your camber settings are close to mine. I had -2.5 in the rear and -2 in the front. I was running 225/255 with no wing and a gendron solid FSB, and the car was balanced well.

Are you running a wing or non-stagger tires? What's your setting on the KW's?

Should be getting a wing next week, still running staggered, 235/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear. Don't remember what my settings are, haven't done anything with the car since Oct. I'll look up my notes and get back to you.

Since you're getting a wing, have you thought about running a bit wider tires up front? If I were running 275's in the rear with a wing, I would at least move up to 245's or 255's to increase overall grip. What kind of wing are you running? APR GTC-200?

EDIT: I just noticed the title of the thread.

Yeah, it'll be the APR GTC-200. i'll see how it feels and switch tires then if I need to, but I'm really happy with the tire performance so far.

Hi, check out intercomp racing they make some of the best alignment tools out there. Their tools are used by a lot of the top racing teams.
If you use the digital camber/caster gauge with their alignment rack it will give you correct and exact readings because once its set up on the wheel and adjusted, a wheel that's bent or out of alignment even slightly will have no effect on exact readings.

Hope this helps
