Sal, have you driven with an instructor/ driving coach yet. I have an AP1 on lowering springs and nonstaggered 245/40/17 re01r, and I just did a 2:12 with a passenger first time ever at Button CW#13. Having a right line, which isn't easy to figure out on your own, is very important there, lots of higher speed stuff where lots of time could be made up or lost. Just a thought

Not bad, I just got back from Buttonwillow as well Race #13 CW and my best run of the daywas a 2:19.4 on 225/255 RE01Rs (only mods besides intake and exhaust).

Funny you should mention that as I was just talking to my brother about getting help with my driving. When I first started at Buttonwillow I was posting times in the low 2:30s and after getting some instruction from a nice guy in a yellow Z06 named Terry, my times went down to my fastest of 2:15.xx. I got these times on configuration 13CW though. I'm thinking I should definitely line up an instructor the next time around.
Now that I think about it, we should make a thread that outlines the correct line for each track. Granted, we won't all have the same line but I'm sure a lot of us would benefit from knowing what line not to take.

Carrera4: Wing and front splitter will come in as soon as budget permits.

S2KRetard: Gotcha!
I really can't wait to get out there when the track is in the 13CW configuration so I can really push the car. I'm sure the added stability will definitely help me post faster times.
What PSI do you recommend I run in these tires?

You really want to pull air out once they get hot so they maintain roughly 30, the problem is getting home after they cool down .

- Pretty sure 30 hot is way too low...

Depends on a lot of factors, of course, but for most tires I would also guess 30 hot is way too low.

On my car, with RA1s, I tend to get the best results between about 37-40 hot. Above 40, I can definitely feel them start to lose grip. Below 37, I think there is too much roll.

PM me if you'd like, maybe we can work something out for instruction next time A few other guys were interested in instruction this weekend, but they were all on different days so it didn't make sense for me to go up there.

With the tire pressures, my $.02 for you would be to go as low as you can without them overheating (getting greasy & losing grip). And I'm pretty sure 30psi hot is beyond that point...

Yea, I've never driven a street or DOT-R tire that could go that low without severely overheating.

Im no expert, but from what I read in Haney, and from experimenting, 34-36 hot seems to be about right.
