I ran 32 cold which was probably 36-38 hot and it seemed to work pretty well. I probably could have gone down a bit for more grip but I was happy with how the RE-01rs performed and I didn't want to change them.

When I first started at Buttonwillow I was posting times in the low 2:30s and after getting some instruction from a nice guy in a yellow Z06 named Terry, my times went down to my fastest of 2:15.xx. I got these times on configuration 13CW though.
the car was the same, only difference was the instruction???

Yea, I've never driven a street or DOT-R tire that could go that low without severely overheating.
FWIW,

I run my hooisers at 32 hot. Tho I'm not about to say i've done a ton of temp testing on it them. Just messing with pressures over the years and I find they behave much better when I treat them (pressure wise) more like slicks.

I think Hoosiers generally are run at lower pressures than most other tires. I assume that's because of the details of their sidewall construction.

yeah but when you have time improvements by that much over a single session or day it is because you have grown bigger balls and are now pushing your limit more.

There is courage, confidence, and skill. It's great to have all of them, but in my experience having courage and/or confidence without having enough skill to back it up makes for a short track driving career.

If somebody drops 15 seconds in a single day, after getting one session of instruction, then I would call that a very productive session of instruction.

Emelio Cervantes (spelling?) is my instructor. He's really good from what I can tell. I started off in the 16's range, after half a session with him, my times started plummeting, ending in the 12's with a passenger, at the last session of the day (greasy!). I can still make up time in the two slow corners (keep missing the apex), and in the fast corners. Car is far from ideal too, oem pads only had 1/3 material at the start of the day

Can't wait to go back to button, such a fun track. Picked up a Recaro SPG on the way home too
