Ap1 catch can install ?
To reduce/eliminate the fumes from the catch can entering the cabin, I put a barb on the can where you would put a filter (vent to atmosphere) and put a hose on it and directed it underneath the car. Beware though, the oil fumes will leave a little oil residue. I had mine in front of the sway bar and i have to clean it up once in a while.
Did you end up drilling your valve cover baffle Ed? I think I'm going to have to do it this year. It seems like the only real solution to this problem. Here's a picture of my catch can setup:

You have to cut off one of the mounts for the OEM box but I really like this location. It makes draining easy and while I still get some fumes, it's not that bad. I still fill up the catch can so need to drill the baffle ones of these days.

I have not drilled the valve cover holes. I haven't even touched car since November man. Baby #3 is making race car shit hard now.
My current plans are to. 1. get a better can with internal baffle and filter, such as mishimoto. 2. possibly relocate the can.????
What i have figured out though is the higher the can is mounted in the engine bay the less oil it tends to collect. What i think is happening is more of the liquid from of oil stays in valve cover as the gases pass through the hoses. When the can is mounted lower it seems to draw the liquid form of oil in a gravity effect through the hoses much faster.
My main issue is a fair amount of residue at can vent filter after each session(2 paper towels worth of cleaning). also the smell.
What also worries me about per say your setup and others i have see, is if the vapors/oil blow back onto exhaust. Hence why i kept the can up by ABS module. Also im still running stock intake so fitment is sort of a bitch

Haha.. ya you're nuts with 3 kids. This one easy or hard so far?
I think if I ever get around to modifying the valve cover that should do the trick. I agree that a catch can and lines located higher up has the advantage that should oil get pushed into the line, it won't by default drain down into the catch can and possible go back to the valve cover. The problem I've found is that the lines can't be mounted that high. If you could run a loop up high like say a dishwasher discharge hose that goes into your drain/disposal that would be better.
Of course the hood is right above the valve cover so no such luck.
The catch can is far enough from the exhaust that's it's no concern to me about oil getting onto the exhaust and causing issues. Even if some slight vapors blows out the filter, the exhaust is a ways away. Being able to jack up the car and easily reach it and drain it w/o removing anything is a big plus.

The baffling on the Mishimoto one doesn't seem very functional and I just looked at the price tag now, wow $325 sure seems high.

How does that Moroso can look like inside SlowTeg, is it baffled?

I don't recall too well honestly.. I think there's a "baffle" of sorts where it turns down for the ports rather than just being completely open but I'm not 100% sure. I do remember there's some steel wool type filling in there to catch the oil vapors. I don't have an issue with oil coming out the top filter, only when it gets full.
Here's a shot of the catch can with the OEM intake back in. You just gotta cut the back mount off of the OEM intake. It's still very secure. The hoses also have plenty of clearance from the pulleys:

I have a Peterson can and it definitely has baffling as I can't even see past it through the top opening. I got a custom one made with two -8 AN fittings welded on and run 1/2" hose to the can. I just remounted it on my new car this weekend.
you can find just the mishimoto can much cheaper. still in the $150 range though. the baffling seems ok, The main benefit im looking for is the prefilter inside the can. According to them it only allows air to exit the vent with no liquids.
Im still up in the air about trying it though.
