Default AutoX Camera mount

I am planning on doing my first couple Auto-x here this summer, the first one on 6/12. My S/O had asked if I was going to be doing video, and I brushed off the idea since I don't wanna lug around my camera gear (Professional Photographer flickr.com/colbyjax).

But then I thought!!! Why not use my phone, it has a pretty decent video function, does several minutes of 720p without a problem.

I am planning on using on of the windshield phone mounts for the gps, but I was also thinking about mounting it between the roll hoops.

My question comes into play about the restriction of using something like this for videoing my runs...

As long as it is securely mounted (ie, the passenger is not hand holding the camera...) it shouldn't be an issue with autox or track days.

You won't have any issues with your mounting plans. Every other car at an autox has a suction cup mount on the windshield, dashboard, door, etc.
