Admittedly, it was 40-50* and I was on race tires when trying to bed them (XP10s/XP8s) the first time. I felt like I got heat into them. The next day I did took it easy in the opening session on track and noticed chemical smells conducive to some brake heat. They wailed on the way home from the track. Five months later I ran the XP8s again, re-bedded at the same time as my XR2 fronts. Front and rear were silent.

My rear XP8s have now gone through 3 days of driving at CotA. The first two days worked the rears hard, as the fronts became overworked. The third day the rears were paired with StopTech fronts and had only minor pad smearing. The backing plates are still true.
