Default buddy club slider w/ sparco rev - help

i wasn't sure what to search exactly....

My sparco rev seat is skinny.... so when i mount it to the sliders it is too skinny for the sliders to fit into the factory holes.... it seems like I have the arm things (that have the holes to mount to the seat) about as wide as I can get them.

do I need to put a bunch of washers or a spacer or something in between the slider mounts and the seat? i am off by about an inch total...

thanks

Scot

For a seat that is wider, the supplied mounts (Rails to seat) work fine. That is the case for me. I mounted a Sparco Evo II. In your case, the supplied mounts need to be mod'ed for work. I would bet you could flatten them in the vise and flip them around. That is if I remember the mounts correctly as my car has been out of sight for a while at the cage builders.

If not, you could fab a L bracket for mount the seats to.

I just don't remember is the mounts were L or a leaning L shape anymore.

I mounted my seat yesterday with a similar problem, so I understand what you are seeing. What I did to solve it was to first mount the supplied L brackets firmly to the seat rail in the most outboard position of its adjusability. Do not leave these "dome nuts" too loose as you will see that they prevent you from adjusting to the most outboard position if they are not screwed down. I then bolted the bracket/rail assembly very loosley to the seat. Doing this, I had enough slop to get the rail to mount to the factory locations. After I had all holes filled (<- porn reference FTW) with bolts, I tightened them up and was gold. The seat slides back and forth, but you have to do it with the door open, my left bolster was wedged up against the door. Let me know if you need any other info or pics.

Bleh... you should've bought sliders that fit. My Taitecs had zero problem accepting my Rev seats.

Sincerely,
Skip, Group #2

If they fit so well, how come there is a thread about them not fitting with his seat? I learned this weekend that Scot would never buy Taitecs- he's a cheap, miserly bastard.

HPDE3 and HPDE4 people have Buddy Club.

Seriously though......It is the seat width that is the problem, not the sliders.... the sliders fit perfect into the spot..... my seat is too skinny.......

I am going to try Tom's suggestion or Jeff's and bend some of the hardware....

If i had a sparco EVO it would fit perfectly....

I wish I could have come down.... I have only been on the full course 1 time.

what kind of top speed were you guys getting? when i was there my entire cluster was out so I was just shifting when my shift light would come on and never saw how fast i was going. i would imagine 140mph+?

I talked to Chris D (red hatch in H1) who said he was way past 145mph and still got screaming passed by Kevin Helms.
