T-hill is our little Nurburgring now. I need to get out there...

2-3 seconds is my guess. The bumps separated the good suspension with the crap. Luckily for me, my suspension was nice and plush with 16kg/mm springs on this track.

Stopped by there yesterday on my way up to San Jose. Phill hill was just about finished. Current track record is held by the 18 wheelers delivering asphalt. Shouldn't be tough for JJ or Amir to beat!

I'm worried it'll be a little slick early on. Does anyone have experience with freshly repaved tracks?

I look forward to driving Buttonwillow as an actual racetrack. I beg to differ that it's joke of a track surface was a good test for anything other than memorizing and avoiding certain areas. They weren't bumps they were massive awkward dips at the entry to every corner and awful cracking surface that no damper could hope to contain. It was more a test of a car's wheelbase than of it's dampers. If I want a shitty tough to drive surface I will go to the mountains, when I want to really refine and dial in my driving at the limit I want to go to the track.

Can't wait to drive the great track layout with a surface that actually does it justice.

Nurburgring? Um no... Nearly completely flat track and it had a much worse surface than any part of Nurburgring.

Yes, T-hill. A couple months back they repaved Turn 3. There was a slew of moto crashes. I believe the real issue was the track was starting to come apart and it was like marbles all over the surface.

In general new/fresh pavement eats tires and it takes couple weekends or so to lay rubber coat on it. If they give it time to cure and was done properly it should not come apart and should have good traction.
Problem is when they don't let it cure or don't do good job, it starts pulling apart. Happen to Laguna most recently.
When Miller was built you could not keep tires in one piece first couple weekends. Pavement was good and except few cracks it held up really good.
When T-hill was repaved few years back it was good and instantly couple seconds faster, at least for 2 wheels.

Track is open now. Any feedback from the open track day on Friday or the Speed Ventures event sat-sun?

So I put together a quick video to compare before and after the repave. First lap is from January on 2nd day old NT01's. Did a PB of a :57.4. Today same set of tires just on their 5th day and it was a 100 degree day. This lap is from session 3 when it was almost 100. :57.1. I feel the curbs make a big difference from the cotton corners to the bus stop. Also the grip is pretty sweet. The track is not 100% yet but from today we will see some really fast laps come the fall/winter when the temps drop.
