What does everyone thing this will translate to as far as decreased lap times? I'm actually kind of sad. That was one of the defining features of the track, and I think it was a good test for a shock's capabilities.
I wonder if it's going to be as butter smooth as CVR.
Anyone run on the repaved surface yet? I think Speedventures is hosting their first event since the repaving at the end of this month.

Haven't driven it in anything really fast since the repave but it was a hairy ride in the GT2 over the bumps before the repave. It was down right a Yawn in my S2000 glass smooth after the repave.
haha stringer ... awesome build on your s2k btw
ya the track isnt ruined at all , very fun day and my hks still skip over riverside ... i set my pb 158;3 in a stock weight s2k on rc1's in the heat
much later braking due to the smoother track and yes the curbing is more mild in some spots, a little more lateral grip overall

vid from my money session... you can see the more friendly curbs , some are the same such as bus stop apex and exit , apex of riverside, esses ... the apex of grapevine also is and a couple others

car never got over 201.5 degree's with the mr sideways radiator .. air temp got up to 104 and track temps were insanely hot ... i also still have my a/c with a fairly old condenser.. with a new condenser it probably would not have gone above 195 ... thanks again Ian , its great to have the rad back in the car

What I liked about it was that it was like our little Nurburgring - the ideal setups tended to be closer to street setups in terms of compliance. You actually need decent shocks, not just stiff springs like on most other tracks.

I need to get out there...
Thill5.0 is cool but it's no ring[/quote]
Ha! Fair enough. Just meant to VERY loosely compare the two. Its no 13 mile ring but 5 miles is still pretty long.
Greetings all!
I finally made it to Buttonwillow this past weekend with Speed District. My first time there since the track was repaved.
Is there any consensus on how much faster the track is since being repaved? I've made some changes to my car since last time I was there. Am trying to figure out what to contribute to the changes, and to the repaved track. Thanks!
