I didnt replace mine after i found out how much they were, had no issues. My exhaust wasnt in the way its a single. And i had my car on a drive on lift cant give no input on using jackstands. i did however support weight of the subframe with a transmission jack only doing one corner at a time, so three.

Just did mine. Rear was a touch off.

Added red loctite and upped torque.

I'm swapping in backups for tranny, driveshaft, and diff, I'll be sure to check all this when I'm under there.

so althought all the rear geometry is hanging off the subframe the rear toe could be affected by the subframe if its shifting on one side?

I realize that I'm bringing this thread back from the dead.. but it led me to a critical finding.

First of all, thanks Rob Robinette for all of the good info. I read your website like a bible when prepping/messing with my car.

I have an 08 CR which I autocross regularly. Local, regional, and nationals events for the past couple years. I bought my car in a questionable, but not 'seriously horrible' condition--after all, it was just for autocross and tracking purposes. My alignment was consistently off after a single event. I contributed this to the control arms, toe arms, bushings.. I replaced them all over time. It helped, but the issue remained. Worse yet, it got to the point where the toe wouldn't adjust to less than .56 in on the driver rear. This would mean I would have over 1 degree total of toe in on the rear OR I had to sacrifice a large amount of camber to even get down to .20 toe.

Well.. side note, when I'm go to local events, I drive (instead of tow) the s2000 and I tow a small tire trailer behind the stook. Turns out the hitch receiver is attached to the rear subframe. After reading this post, I noticed my subframe was shifted forward on the driver rear pretty severely (which would explain the toe issue). My theory is that the trailer is causing this, perhaps after a hard brake or some left turn accelerations with loose subframe bolts.

Anyways, long winded explanation to say: if you're like me and you tow a small trailer.. keep an eye on it. And like everyone else, my bolts were loose.

Thanks again, Rob.

Also food for thought you shouldn't have to replace the subframe bolts unless when you remove them there corroded or rusted, or if the sub frame has been rubbing against them causing scoring on them then I would replace no questions asked
