coolant temps on track
so i did some searching and didnt quite come up with the answers im looking for. maybe someone here can lend me some advice.
car is turbo'd with a v-mounted radiator/intercooler. system is fully ducted from front bumper to out the hood. running a aem series 1, modify ect fix and aem serial gauge
from my research it seems stock the fan turns on around 205f and off around 195f. my understanding is the fan switch is in the radiator and the temp gauge is on the back of the block/intake mani. so the temps are getting readings from different locations fans from the rad and the gauge from the engine. im finding my fans kick on when the serial gauge reads 217 and kick off around 205. cruising on the highway they hover right around 201-203. on track it held under 205 for about 6 laps and started creeping to low teens, i did a cool down lap and it dropped right back down. just not sure if this is normal to have the reading so high with the serial gauge, if maybe the scaling is off or some other unknown. car has been bleed per the billman method, its also running a swirlpot which should ensure that i dont have air.
