Corner balance
Hey guys, I recently put BC racing br type coilovers on my car, I don't track but I do want to start auto x ing occasionally. Would it be worth getting a corner balance for that? How big is the difference? It is also my dd. Last but not least where do I get a corner balance? I live I. Exton Pa, outside of west Chester. Does anyone know of a shop that does them?
As long as you're not changing the height often, it can make a lot of sense to get it corner balanced. How much it'll help depends on how far off it is. I definitely wouldn't say it's necessary, assuming you measure all your ride heights and they're very close your corner weights are probably not far off. Corner weighting is definitely a fine tuning get that little bit extra out sort of thing.
Probably the best place is Phoenix Performance in Phoenixville. Also, it's a little more of a drive but CSE I hear does good work and they'll do corner balancing - http://www.cseauto.com/.
Hope to see you out at some autocrosses! I'll be at the Holbert next weekend in warminster - are you planning on going to that? http://www.phillyscca.com/forum/view...php?f=8&t=6937

i personally wouldn't spend the $140 or so on it yet if you haven't started even started autocrossing. Note that you should get a corner balance then re-align.
when you start autocrossing and are pretty set on your ride height, then i'd corner balance and align.

Okay, all of this sounds great. Chuhsi makes a good point, I am not 100 percent on my ride height yet. I don't know if j should keep the factory raked like stance or make it level. I'm running a 225/255 setup.
I agree a corner balance for you is overkill. Use a good measuring device and make sure both front shocks are exactly the same length, then make the two rear shocks the same length. There can be difference between the front and rear due to the shocks being different front-to-rear and rake (rear higher than front). I use a digital caliper to measure my shock perch height and the last time I corner balanced the car I only needed 1/2 turn to the left rear shock.
The stiffer your springs the more critical corner balance becomes.
Here's a corner balance how-to: http://robrobinette....rner_weight.htm

I wouldn't worry much about it - rake or no rake won't make much of a difference for an autocross. Personally I'm in the school of thought of having front and rear about the same ride height so you don't have unnecessarily high ride height in the rear.
Awesome, thanks a lot guys. Should I go by exact coilover length or fender to wheel center height? And just to clarify is there any corner that I should add a thread or two or more on that is very common in being off? There will be an extra 200 lbs in the driver seat
