I have the same wing, mounted the same way. I've been around AAA speedway at 140 mph with no signs of damage.

A few hard strikes and they turn into V shapes
would need some force...

I will take better pics tomorrow and post it here

The wing has a flat base and we might have installed it far too back? The reason I am saying this is that we are almost at the limit on angling this wing. the rear side is bolted the the lowest possible and the front mount is all the way up. we cannot lower the front of the wing more
So what your saying is that the wing is angling forward?

From your description this is what comes to mind.

if the wing looks similar in angle to that (albeit not as extreme towards 90 as that picture) then you have effectively turned the wing into an air brake and all it is doing at speed is trying to pull the whole car back, not push it down into the road. Try reinstalling the wing and leveling it out and see if that doesn't help.

A proper assessment cannot be determined with the data and photos given.

Please take a side picture of the car so we can see the wing height and Angle Of Attack (AOA) and explain if the trunk was fine, you went for a drive and then this happened - or when you first noticed the trunk damage.

But have you street-raced at 160mph?

You're just not giving that wing enough of a workout at the track...

No way that is created by downforce, of all the people with voltex wings, or any gt wing, no one has ever had this problem before, and they are track whores.

Instead of worrying about reinforcing the trunk, your friend should just take it off, that big gt wing catches a lot of attention in any parking lot, haters will continue to damage it.

Your friend is pretty lucky already, I have 2 friends with voltex wings and they went to a busy plaza for dinner after track, and they came out to their cars only to see both wings were karate chopped in half.
slammed my face into my friends apr gt200 last week pushing the car on the a trailer, i dont think it flexed a damn bit. they must have used a saw

The force of your face slamming into the wing on the side is nothing compared to an arm strike on the face of the wing.

It is already set at the minimal
is it possbile that you set it so minimal that it is actually causing lift instead?? And the amount of drag pushed the wing backwards??
