Like others said.. some half decent pictures (not fuzzy, covered w/ water, crappy ones from your phone) would go a long way. With these half a$$ pictures, it's anyone guess as to what the problem is.

No way that happened with down forces unless it was incorectly installed/supported from the underside.

No important amount of downforce is created on the wing at less than 110mph or so.

I will take better pics tomorrow and post it here

The wing has a flat base and we might have installed it far too back? The reason I am saying this is that we are almost at the limit on angling this wing. the rear side is bolted the the lowest possible and the front mount is all the way up. we cannot lower the front of the wing more

Where the Voltex/J's wings are mounted, is on the strongest part of the trunk...

Someone posted a picture of their trunk that someone tried to yank their wing off and it looks similar to your friends. Also wouldn't your friend notice that his trunk was deforming?

Yeah almost looks more like BACKforce not DOWNforce.
There's a word for that: drag.

Clearly someone tried to steal this by trying to pull back. Unless the car has a flux compacitor I highly doubt and s2k. Would generate enough force for this to happen. This thread is lol.
This.

No way that is created by downforce, of all the people with voltex wings, or any gt wing, no one has ever had this problem before, and they are track whores.

Instead of worrying about reinforcing the trunk, your friend should just take it off, that big gt wing catches a lot of attention in any parking lot, haters will continue to damage it.

Your friend is pretty lucky already, I have 2 friends with voltex wings and they went to a busy plaza for dinner after track, and they came out to their cars only to see both wings were karate chopped in half.

Arn't these wings pretty strong? I wonder what kind of force or object it takes to chop one in half?
