So I can fully get behind Nick's assertion that prosolos in DC favor cars with power. Which in STR, we'll be the ones with power, imagine that.
And I look forward to watching STR!

That was my first pro and was very discouraged thinking this was normal for S2000 at pro's. I will be there this year in BS, this is pretty early in the season for the northeast i have not had any seat time, and new shock setup to dial in it should be fun.
I know, Crazy huh! Get ready for some more hill climbing. I am going to try and find a bumper sticker saying "My car climbed Mt. Washington FedEx Field"

The hills are what I don't like for our cars. Grip is pretty good but digs facing up hill suck. One tour at Fed Ex, a c4 vette was 2 seconds off of the top cars in BS on the first day; reverse the course and it was 2 secs ahead of most of BS for day two. It should be a good time either way.

This will be my first pro solo. But, I'm leaving my str ap1 at home to drive a better prepped sts miata. Ill be lurking around the str s2000 guys though. So I'm hoping to meet a few people and run my car at future national events this season.

Yeah, it is about as slippery as last year. Perhaps a little better.

I hate this site because the black shit is super slippery, and the white is very grippy. The transitions are tricky between the two. Then, there is different degrees of the sealed parts. Some of the heaviest stuff is the most slippery. It wasn't that bad last Sunday in mid 50 degree temps. If it rains then lights out. Two driver cars had an advantage IMO. The lot is nice in the middle of the summer when the grip comes up, but you just have to get as much practice as you can during the practice.

Good luck to you all.

I actually thought it felt very good. Sure the sealed parts are a bit slipperier, but not nearly to the same extent that they were for, say, the 2010 pro. I also had just as much grip on my 1st run as my last, at least thats how it felt. Then again i was on dunlops.

You are probably right, Jon. I just came off Dixie in mid 70s temps and Warminster on concrete in mid 60s - both had excellent grip for my stiffer setup. Then I did Hershey PA asphalt in damp conditions with reasonable, but consistent grip. I think you are completely right that the grip is better than 2011, and waay better than 2010 (like night and day from 2010), but it is uncomfortable transitioning between surfaces, and the important turns or braking zones on the heavy stuff is really risky because there is minimal predictability, and difficult to recover once the car starts to slide. That said, your car is set softer than mine, and probably a better prediction for how a BS S2000 would feel after the second run.

I personally prefer consistent grip - whatever it is. Either way, I really looking forward to the TnT battle with many of the ProSolo players this Sat in NJ ( our favorite lot), and am ready for the battle in two weeks!!

Let's get it on!

Cheers.

^^ Hell yeah!!

Thanks for the feedback Jon and Noel. Good to know the site, (at the very least) is not in "Bad shape." The transition from surface to surface makes it interesting from a driving and setup perspective, so we're in for a good challenge. I looped my AP1 in 2010 after transitioning on to the dark stuff, so I know what you guys mean. Will you both be in NJ for the TNT this Saturday? Let's chat some more.

Cheers Fellas.

Nick
