Default EVO X gsr

Hey guys,

have any of you track guys driven the EVO X gsr it? Thoughts?

I'm thinking of DDing/ Track one and possibly selling my s2k because it's getting pretty high up in mileage.

Any thoughts for a DD/ track car, and also reliability? I love the s2k because it's so reliable.

BTW does anyone know what evo X version evasive has? (gsr/ mr)

Thanks

I have the Lancer. It's no s2k or a sports car, but its great for what it is - a performance oriented sedan. The steering is great and the handling is shockingly good (far less understeer than an STi). The seating position is high & the a-pillars block your view when looking ahead. The interior fit & finish looks very Fisher-Price. Haven't tracked or auto-crossed her (not sure if I want to).

I was afraid that I wouldn't like the s2k after driving nothing but the Lancer for a month. Nope! Took the s2k to an auto-x and I was reminded how great the s2k is (granted it's a mod'd s2k vs stock Lancer). Long story short, I want to sell and get a CR for auto-x.

...or possibly build an SCCA ASP Evo. Not sure how competitive it will be in ASP.

ASP was literally created for the Evo because it was killing its old class, BSP. The Evo should continue to dominate the new ASP just as it dominated the old BSP.

FormulaRedline, one of the guys on here that I know, has been tracking his AP1 regularly for years and years, and he has over 190k miles on it. Original engine and everything. Don't be scared of the mileage!

Is the GT3, Z06, & Lotus still in ASP? I'd compete against the Evo 8/9, which are a few hundred pounds lighter than the 10. Hmmmm...

When you said you'd build an ASP Evo, I thought you were talking about the earlier generations. I'm not aware of anyone having seriously campaigned an Evo X in ASP.

Most of the old ASP moved up to SSP (Super Street Prepared). I suspect all three of the cars you mentioned moved, but as usual, the SCCA website's document archive is down, so I can't confirm.

The 5spd Evo 9 is the best Evo you can have for a competitive autocross car. I'm pretty sure all the fastest Evo guys are running those. I've drive a couple Evos and owned a WRX and STI and if you want something that feels more like the s2000 the Evo is your best bet. Steering feel/response is much better than the Subaru. It's still nowhere close to s2000.
