It looks like I personally will be eating my words on this thread:

I hear it's damn expensive, but it at least looks like more than just bling will be coming from Password:JDM.

well, there's no need for CF -other than bling- but it does look promising - although proper cooling is the question mark...

That's not actually the correct takehome message, IMO. The correct lesson is that all bling is worthless (for performance), whether JDM or not.

A secondary lesson should be that any mod (whether bling or "functional", whatever that is supposed to mean*) is useless if the driver can not take advantage of it. In fact, it may easily be worse than useless.

Who is driving the car? Last I heard, cars don't drive themselves.

The biggest reason these JDM fans have a bad name in this forum isn't because the parts they like work or don't work. It's because most of the people who come in here talking about them think that bolting on some magical hardware is a substitute for knowing how to drive.

Just like the street encounters forum, while not everybody involved in the scene is an idiot, it's definitely true that the idiots give everybody else a bad name.
Yes, it was driven by a quick driver. But, a 4-5 sec per lap difference? Especially the race s2000 wasent driven by slow drivers (speedventures, i believe) either.

Either way, my point is made that many JDM modifications aint slow. And if a person's got money (and a lot of people are rich), and if he decides to sit on his ass in front of the TV and make him faster on the track by spending money, so be it. Not the best way IMO, but each to his own.

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. If they're going to sponsor this forum, it's at least a step in the right direction compared to what I've seen from them before.

Obviously I'd like to see actual testing on a part like this, and that would include both the aerodynamic gains and cooling penalties. Hopefully if they are serious about R&C they will do this testing, and they aren't just out trying to buy more "street cred" with the ricers.

Think of it this way. They are helping by paying to keep this site going so you can all be E-thugs and argue over the internet about who is faster. Dont hate on password, keep hating on each other
