wonder where all the variability is coming from? sure, you have diifferent level drivers on different tracks, but there really seems to be a difference between individual vehicles - a huge one, in some cases.

Motorcycle racers fill their tanks with foam to prevent sloshing. Basically it comes in small chunks and you just stuff it in. Easier on a bike than in a car.
