I had this problem and it was a faulty fuel presure regulator. Check your vacuum line that goes from the regulator to the intake manifold. Take off the vacuum line and sniff it if it smells like gas your fuel presure regulator should be replaced. It solved bogging, and the whole fuel starvation problem for me.

A while back I swapped out my Walbro 255 for a Full Blown 340 along with a new fuel pump filter/housing assembly. I now have fuel starve problems under hard 1st gear acceleration with less than 1/4 tank of gas. I think the fuel pump pick up is higher on the FB pump than it was on the Walbro. Either that or the fuel pump housing is different & the pick up is higher. I used the filter sock that came with the FB pump. I am wondering if I can use a longer fuel line hose to lower the fuel pump pick up lower into the tank. I just can't remember how it was designed & if this might work. I don't want to install a seperate sump tank as I had no issues before. Has anyone been able to effectively lower the fuel pick up to fix this problem?
BTW, I have a new MAP sensor and it has the zip tie fix. Also, the fuel pressure regulator does not have any fuel smell without the vacuum line. Also, no problems after 1st gear.

Humm. Maybe Full Blown designed the pump to have a shorter pick up so they can sell their surge tanks.
I want to see if there is a way to fix the problem by simply getting the pick up lower in the tank.

Dude don't even go there. That's just ass talk. The problem is in the OEM tank. I've cut one open. The factory swirl pot is pitiful and is designed for 2000-era street tires. Not 2012 tires with 1.2g grip. Definitely not designed for FI or upgraded rates of fuel pickup.
LJ at Full Blown had the dual Walbros designed first.
He designed the external pot over a year later as a solution for me and my 522whp / 473wtq E85 guzzling S2000 on 315 Hoosier A6s.

You can be completely down to the bottom of the factory pot and still starve if all the fuel is on the other side of the tank (which is what happens on left hand sweepers, especially with a preceding "throw").

Good info. I was just kidding & not trying to be an ass. Just trying to figure out the issue. My problems only occured after I put in the FB 340 pump so the logic was it was too short or I somehow raised my pickup. I have ~450whp now & 4.57 gears. Once I get my problems sorted out on my leaky 928 impeller seal (Vortech) I will be focused on wider & sticky Hoosiers I will just factor in the cost to add the sump tank. Thanks.

Yeah, not cool to "joke" about the integrity and motivation of one of the few tuners that actually supports their work and stands by it.
Especially when they're known for really going above and beyond for their customers.
