I just ordered them and talked to Jay. Charged $399. He's a very informative guy. Almost too much in that he loses train-of-thought sometimes. Endearing.

pfb,

Do you notice any bounce when going over bumps or is it smooth like the stock setup? I've been messaging back and forth with SilverSurfer and he tells me he noticed more of this than with the Comptech setup.

It is clearly stiffer than the stock suspension, but not so stiff as to be unpleasant in my opinion.

I think what WRS2k is getting at is that one can only go so stiff with stock dampers. At a certain point stock damper will not have enough valving to keep up with higher rate springs.

The real solution is running dampers with more valving, preferably adjustable, to accomdate stiffer spring rates, and adjustability for proper matching of valving on the shock dyno. . .

id est, don't use stock shocks with GC perches/springs?

I don't want the ricer-bounce. Please.

By the way, Jay said he guarantees that these springs do not need a settling in time. Just that the bushings may lower the car a tad bit more due to them being hard on our cars. Or was that soft?

I believe the GCs are stiffer than the Comptechs.

pfb, can you validate?

From this old thread on coilover/spring options (https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=64338), the comptech rates are 220 front, 280 rear.

The GC's are available in just about any rate, but on Jay's recommendation for track day/on road use, I went with 340 front, 380 rear. The stock shocks seem to handle this fine, although I'm sure performance would be improved with the GC Advance Design shocks.

For reference, stock ('00, '01) are 218F, 291R, just about the same as the comptech.

From my conversation with Jay today, it sounds like the 340/380 combo has been a popular choice, but then I didn't ask him to quantify "popular."

As long as the 340/380 setup doesn't give you the bouncing action when traveling over less than ideal roads, I'm golden.

Thanks for your time and attention in this matter, pfb.
