Harness question
So i'm going further with the safety in my car since I'm getting a pair of seats for Christmas since I'm getting thrown around too much at HPDEs in the stock ones. The next obvious step is harnesses. When it comes to that, I'm kind of lost, there are just so many options.
My main questions are pull-up versus pull-down, which one works better in our cars.
Also, does anybody do the dog-bone harnesses, and should I even though I don't think I'll be getting a HANS for at least another year or 2 need a new helmet first. They can still be run just fine with 3" harnesses, correct?
Also, blot in versus clip in, and if so, do I use eye bolts for the lap belts (do they even fit?), or those bendable things schroth sells, or the Brey Krause Boxster mounts that seem to fit well in S2000s as well?
Thanks for the help.

I applaud you for the emphasis on safety. however, Please don't use the harnesses without some Hans type device. Once you install your seats, Strap yourself in with the harnesses, all the parts of your body will be secured. Except your head. This is the exact scenario that puts you at risk for the type of injury the Hans prevents.
I think you need to look carefully at the Simpson Racing Harness, because it is the only one that I know of that has the specially designed Hans shoulder straps. In other words, if you get the Simpson harness with the 3 inch shoulder straps, you can buy just the Simpson shoulder straps for Hans in a few years. It's expensive, but otherwise you'll be buying 2 sets of harnesses, me thinks.
I had a fairly new Racers Choice harness in my car (not S2000) with 3 inch shoulder straps. When I got the Hans, I ran with the 3 inch straps. It was uncertain getting the straps to stay where they belonged, plus I kind of had to fold them over a bit to stay in the Hans slot. This past spring, I sent them back for a "re-web" requesting the Hans compatible shoulder straps. They don't so that, so they came back with the same basic 3" shoulder straps. The material was a little softer, so I ran them. But I'll probably upgrade to Simpson if I have enough money this spring.
I've used both the hook latch and cam lock systems. I like the hook latch a little better. But my concern is that these parts are proprietary. That the Racers Choice cam lock system, for example, is incompatible with the Simpson cam lock system.
Do you have a roll bar with a harness bar? If you put racing seats in the car, you almost can't run the stock seat belts, but must go with the racing harness.
