KingMotorsports told me to take it off and send it to them...they will reweld it and send it back.......blaaa.... they said i have to remove the motor mount bolt to get it off???

I suck at mechanical stuff...hopefully this is all fairly simple..... you do it with the engine running right.

uhhh...joking?
make sure the car is off and cooled down at least a couple hours or you'll find yourself buring your hands and arms all over the place.

If it's truly a crack (sure looks like it), it may have been caused by some tension/loading in the way the header's mounted. This happened to my stock header, for example, when I installed the Hondata gasket, and then couldn't get the intake manifold bolts back into their bracket. After a few thousand miles, the mounting bracket on the stock header snapped due to excessive engine vibration. Fortunately the header pipes were undamaged.

So before you re-install, make sure that your motor is properly mounted and not vibrating excessively.

I haven't noticed it vibrating.... i let it idle for a while while i tried to find the leak... i reved it up a bunch of times (cause that's fun) and didn't notice too much shake... i will check it out again upon reinstalling it.

thanks for the tip.

Scot, it looks like the weld is cracked as well. If it is cracked, you'll have to remove the header and have the old weld bead ground out, and then re-welded. Stainless is not particularly hard to weld, but I would look for a skilled TIG welder to do the job.

The stainless used is fairly thin, so some care must be taken not to make the hole any bigger.

If it's just a hole, you should be able to leave the header on the car and have it welded up.

Hopefully King can fix it for you.
You might be able to jack up the engine very slightly and pull it out from the top.

i ended up taking out the motor mount... the entire process only took me about an hour so that wasn't too painfull.

King is going to fix it quickly.

It is cracked almost the entire way around. (pic didn't show that).

hopefully i get it back on the car mid next week.

thanks for all the help.
