My initial take on the subframe collars is that if your subframe is torqued to spec it won't 'wobble' in the bolt holes that these fill. Check the bolts for torque and mark the subframe with white nail polish so you can see if it slips and you should be good.

I agree with your assessment that if it's torqued properly it won't wobble

I guess I kind of see it like the argument between hub centric and lug centric with regards to wheels. Everyone says that you don't need centering rings for rims because the taper of the lug nuts when properly torqued will center the wheels correctly. However, I have seen plenty of instances when people complain of vibration on high end aftermarket wheels and simply using the proper hub centric rings to center the wheel to the hub solves the problem.

Similarly even though there are so many subframe bolts to align the subframe to the frame, I imagine there is a bit of play, where as the spoon rigid collars could act like a whole bunch of hub centric rings to remove the error/play out of the alignment of the subframe to the frame.

Actually my cheapass thought that not all the collars would be required for 1 car to have it's frame and subframe properly indexed to each other to reduce error in alignment, and that 2 or more friends could share 1 spoon collar kit hahaha, but that's veering even further off topic.

But I also guess if I buy some subframe spacers I don't have to worry about if my sub frame moves. Then I can really check if something is bent
