I towed my S for the first time 3 weeks ago, in fact it was the first time I've towed anything! The track is about 90 miles away. I used t-hooks at all 4 corners in the frame rail and 10K straps hooked to the trailer. I set the e-brake and left the car out of gear. It towed like a dream! Just take your time securing it to the trailer. You may want to write a checklist of your loading procedure so you don't forget anything.

The place I ordered the trailer from has my straps waiting for me. They were ordered from another local company www.snappinturtle.com .

Trailer might be here July 20th.

Getting close.

So got a wild hair and decided to try my first hand at strapping the S down to the flat bed. Safe to say it was nerveracking...being my first time (twss) but it was a success and nothing (on the S) got damaged. I think my x-brace grabbed the back steel rail holding the boards down and bent it a little. I banged it back down with a hammer and replaced the damaged screw with a nut and bolt. Ready to get to the alignment shop!

Yikes........... Do not tow that S with that setup! Buy yourself some weld on D rings or some recessed floor mounted ones. I don't care for frame mounted straps myself, I prefer wheel nets or through the wheel straps that place the straps in line with the car. Your rear straps are crossed which is fine, but are they just hooked onto the thin metal frame? The recessed D rings would be far better and safer.

Weld on D rings:

Un-cross the rears and cross the fronts. You can also get pocket mounted D-rings for ease.

I bought the bolt on D rings and used grade 8 bolts through the thick frame of my trailer on all four corners. I cross both the front and the rear straps. I also have a set of 8 foot aluminum ramps that I use instead of those cheap ass 4 foot steel ones.

I take the easy way out on mine. Pocket D-rings and MAC's wheels straps.

I tried bolting my spare tire to one of the stake pockets. It survived two trips before the welds on the stake pocket began to fail and I nearly lost my spare tire going down the road. I noticed it seemed to be leaning, so I pulled over.

I've been using them to hold the cars down for 3 years and no issue of any fatigue.
