Welcome to the sport. Do you remember who your instructor was?

If you're really Jonesing for some more fun, we're running an autocross school on the East Coast next Sunday at Hialeah Park in Miami. There are still a few spots left, so sign up now. Here's a link to the enrolment form: http://autox.carlc.com/school_ad_06.pdf

I was there on Sunday in a white Miata - say hi if we cross paths at a future event.

Here's the National SCCA website:

http://www.scca.com/

You can use the region locator to find regions near you.

http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmMain.Show is used by many of the clubs for registration. You may want to check the schedule on their site.

You may also want to check PCA (Porsche Club)and BMW clubs in your area. Might look at http://www.team.net/ too.

unfortunately I can't make it over to the east coast this coming weekend. I wanted to support my friends at the TerTech event in west palm on saturday but it's not gonna happen. I do make it over there from time to time though so keep me informed of other events.

thanks.

-edit- no I don't remember his name. I'll let you know if it comes to me.

I also went to the open face helmet because I like the wider field of vision for autocross. The full face helmet seemed to restrict my field of vision. The restricted vision may be acceptable for track, but on an autocross course you may need to be looking out the sides to be looking far enough ahead.

I agree with the open face suggestion. This picture was taken in Salina in April, and I had a Bell M2 full face helmet. Later this summer I switched to a Open Faced model like the Evo instructor in my car. With the hot weather here in the Kansas City area, much more comfortable with the open face model.

At the top of this page, there is an area for Important Topics. Good one to read is the Autocross Set-up FAQ, by PedalFaster.

Another Autocross Event Calendar is the DLB Racing one.

Good Luck with your Autocross events.
