insulated air box?
Is there anything in the scca rule book for A-Stock that would not allow me to do some insulating to the factroy air box/intake piping?
1) Has anyone done so and what method/type of material have you used?
thanks...

The rules say if the modification isn't listed as an allowed modification, then it is illegal except for those changes that are strictly for comfort & convenience and have no impact on car performance.
Insulating the airbox isn't listed as allowed, therefore it is illegal.
Xviper did some testing a long time ago...did some various insulation tricks an placed thermocouples in strategic locations for data collection.
Insulating the airbox did slow the onset of heatsoak, but once it was heatsoaked, the insulation held the heat in longer.
