Awesome. Now I have a nice comparison to start adjusting my Clubsports.

After doing some research it does appear the current Club Sport shock has slightly firmer damper settings than the V3.

Good write up. I also used the Penske manual in the past to help set up my old car.

thanks so much for posting this rob! I just installed a set of V3's and got an a alignment yesterday. I am going to use this to tune them for my next track day oct 13-14. Your posts and website has helped the transformation of my S from street to track fast and problem free in one season!

I think the reason KW went back to 80N-mm springs on the standard V3s was to put more distance between them and the Club Sports--probably just a marketing decision.

I have talked to KW many times regarding the difference. Club Sport has different valving than KWV3 thats a fact.

Rob,

I looked at your website and was wondering why you placed the helper spring on the bottom of the main spring and not the top?

after testing i ended with bump at 3 and rebound at 9/11 (f/r).
this gives me good soaking at bad road and bearable body roll.
mine are with stock 80 springs (~8.5kg) and i also have eibach sways set to stiff.

body roll eliminates almost completely if i add 1 more click for rebound and it's still quite good on the bad road.
