Guys I'm a bit confused. Just picked up a set of kwv3 with ~ 3000 mi. On em. My question to the seller was what settings did he have them at. He didn't know much about them ...so....my question and what I would like some help on before I install these ( I track my s as much as I can with sv ) is how do I set these back to "stock" i don't even know how to tell what ride height their set at. Also can someone take a look at my pic and tell me how I set the rebound to "stock". I see some v3 have a spot for Allen wrench others have a dial...this is what I have...

Sorry if these are silly questions. I've done all the maintenance on my s from fluids to clutch install. This is just my first experience with a coilover suspension set up. Main purpose of these is to improve handling at the track so if I could stay close to stock ride height and avoid the slammend look all the better. Want to install these fri or sat so I can get alignment done right after install. Thanks for any feedback

You have the V3 version that uses a round plastic wheel that fits on the "blade" that sticks up out of the top of the shock. You can use pliers to grip the blade and turn it if you don't have the caps. The top adjuster changes rebound, the bottom adjuster is compression (or bump). The bottom adjuster is turned with a pin tool in 1/4 turn "sweeps." The 0 reference is full stiff--top screwed clockwise all the way in, bottom turned from left to right all the way in (go easy when hitting 0, don't force it).

I would suggest going with the KW suggested settings:

Compression - all 4 wheels 3 sweeps out from full stiff (3/4 of a turn)
Rebound Front - 3/4 turns out from full stiff
Rebound Rear - 1.5 turns out from full stiff

For ride height measure your current setup for a baseline then install the shocks. You can stay at stock ride height but the car will handle better lowered between 3/4 and 1 inch and it won't look "slammed."

Install the shocks and adjust the spring perches for your desired ride height. Set the left and right side shock perches to exactly the same length unless you can get a high quality corner balance done.

I just got some new kw v3s and I am new to the adjustable suspension game. I just wanted to clarify what it meant from full stiff. So I would set my settings to full stiff and then soften it up? For example, compression all around at 0.75 turn out from full stiff (3 sweeps or 6 clicks), this would mean I would go full stiff and then soften it up 6 clicks? Thanks

Think of adjuster as bolt you screwing in. Clockwise is tight, adjuster screwed in will give you maximum damping. From there you back out to desired spot.

Nice, I started with billy settings. Since then I made minor changes if needed but, nothing drastic.

Thanks robrob

My track settings for BW:

Compression F: 2 from full stiff
Rebound F: 2 from full Stiff

Compression R: 2 from full stiff
Rebound R: 4 from full stiff

At SOW: Raise F Rebound to 1 from full stiff.

Notes: Nonstaggered w/255x4, non-aero.
Antonov, thanks for sharing your setup, what spring rates, anti-roll bars and camber settings are you running?
He has really high spring rates now because hes driving a 4000lb pick up truck.

Lol @ 4000#. 6000# I'd say.

As far as my set. I was running MY06 rear sway bar, and MY00 front sway bar. J's S1 front camber joint.

Question regarding shock maintenance. What is the typical shock maintenance and interval for KW V3 and similar shocks? Assuming mixed driving on street, track, autox.
