Had a great weekend at Mid-Ohio. I not once had any type of fade running DS2500 pads, the brakes were solid and consistent throughout the weekend. Performance wise this setup stopped better and more consistent than my OEM G-loc R10/R8 combo. I will update with wear rates, but I am really happy with how things went. I could have leaned on them a bit harder but figured I would save that for after I got a bit more confident in the setup.

My initial concern with locking the front never happened infact they seemed very balanced.

Ditto on this....

Most of the fade issues I have had were in the rear.

The Urge rears are a solid investment, basically the cost of any typical Giro disc 2 piece rotor. They do cool better and at a minimum are going to save rear wheel bearings. I am really happy with them, that said had I known I was going to go the SBG BBK I may have considered their rear kit, although the price difference between the two is very significant. Overall I am very happy with how the SBG BBK and urge rear setup performed. I am fairly certain braking distance was decreased vs my OEM Gloc R10/R8 setup even using Ferodo DS2500 (like an HP+). I had zero lock or ABS issues l, although I never actually got into ABS. Even not going as aggressive and feeling things out I was braking 50+ft deeper than before (120 to 60mph). The brakes were very consistent throughout the session even an extended 35-40min

I have finally gotten around to taking some pad measurements. After around 6hrs of track time on a moderately hard braking track, including a couple 45min stints I have used 20% of the rear & 33% of the fronts. The 33% is maybe a bit misleading in that it is a 20mm pad, so on a regular thickness pad that would be closer to 50% on the fronts. Although it important to note the 20mm pad is the same cost as OEM fronts. In short the fronts took a pretty big hit, that said the 6hrs I had was a pretty demanding 6hrs.

As as far as the DS2500 pads go, I will not continue to use them once this set are gone. The pad itself is decent on track and very consistent, basically like a HP+ that doesn't seem to fade. On the street the dust is just below Hawks and they are really quite noisy, the G-Loc R10s were better in terms of dust and noise. I am thinking in addition to it just being a hard 6hrs the pad compound itself wore a bit faster than a dedicated race pad would have, obviously I have no way to know for sure.

After 4 more hrs on a mid-braking track I have used 60% front and 40% rear. I will log around 3hrs this weekend on a moderate/hard braking track. My guess is that I get ~16hrs out of this set of front pads, had they been OEM thickness my wear rate may have actually been more than the OEM setup with just URGE rears. Hopefully, if I switch to a proper race pad I get more life.

And done! After around 13hrs I was metal to metal on one of the inside front pads, it ended my day early. I will say that as far as time goes I did not do better than OEM with R10/8 combo. That said I have gotten a good bit faster, so part of it may be due to that. I am done for the season and will start next year with a more aggressive track pad.

Hopefully I didn't ruin a rotor, I put some pretty decent scratches in the rotor

I think you will see a great improvement with proper track pads!

Thanks for sharing your findings and results. This kit has been added to my "want/need list"

I hope, I killed those DS2500. I definitely do not recommend those pads. I may go back to the Gloc pads and do R12 on both front and rear. Or R10 all around and just use them for Street and track.

So ended up deciding to try Cobalt XR2 pads and using the DS2500 for the street. I am not convinced the DS2500 are the best choice of a street pad, but I hardly used the rears and found a good deal on some fronts. I like the Cobalt pads in that they supposedly are not nearly as effected by using different compounds on the same rotors. I guess I will find out!

I am hopeful that going to the race pad evens front/rear wear out a bit because I looked at the rear pads today and they are hardly worn. On the fronts I ran a giant 20mm pad to the backing plate! This makes me wonder just how much rear brake I am using.
