N/A S2000 competitive in NASA ST3?
Wondering if anyone was building an S2000 for ST3 or planning on running in that class next year. Would have to be ultralight if you wanted to make the 9:1 wt:whp with an NA S2000.
No one runs HC1 or PTB/PTC in my region but there are a few ST2 vettes that are planning on running less tire, less power and no aero to make the ST3 cut off. It could be a fun class. More fun than racing no one!

Aren't there a few HC1 competitors running in NASA NE (if that's your region)? https://docs.google.com/a/azpinstall...lkMGU5ODhjYWQy
Even if you get near the power:weight limit for ST3 on an NA car, you'll still be at a disadvantage to the high hp cars. Especially at faster tracks.

Compare that to 67 entries and 18 racers for ST2 in the Northeast last year.

If you put a j35 motor in the S you might be competitive in ST3.
You will be competitive with the car you have against 1/2 the ST2 cars but that is because their driver ability isn't there. You will have to race in the big bore race group which means you will have to watch for SU or GTS4-5-U cars gaining on you at tremendous closing speeds.
I'll race a few more events in the NE this year and there might be other MidA guys that will race NE races this year. EDIT-----all in H1
You need to register for Hyperfest as soon as registration opens April 1 for a late April race at Summit Point with NASA MidA. That race will have the most Hondas H1 and H2 outside of Nationals.

Fields will typically be smaller if more people don't start racing in a given class. By avoiding the problem, you're adding to it IMO. The fields will never get larger if everyone wants to go where they can race the most people. I understand the desire to race more people...but you also have to look at why there aren't people to race in the class you want to be racing in. Its a vicious cycle.
