Track time in the form of saved money on tires > overall grip, to me, at least.
For just lapping and driving to and from track i would go this route. Heard the 615K is the same compound as a Z2SS

What is the benefit to the SURG4G over RS4s? They are the same price as RS4s

I think your A and R keys must be switched on your keyboard.

For sure A7s are the tire. OP didn't mention those as it seems he wants something to drive on the street. I wouldn't drive A/R7s on the steeet lol
I agree.::Hoosiers are the fastest tire

RS4s get my vote. Inexpensive and just as good if not better than the RS3, especially in the wet. Still a softer sidewall than the 71Rs (as the RS3 was)

Everything I've heard is the A isn't any faster than an R. They just get to temp quicker and on a smaller diameter they overheat on track and HC out faster.

This is the route I am going. After the "kick in the nuts" when I pulled off my race pads, I am going to need to squeeze my pennies the best way possible

They are faster and you'll get more out of them for TT (A7).

R7 might not wear faster but they will get hard long before you cord them due to heat cycles. Unlike the A7.
A7s also are point modifier not permitted in TT4. They are the faster tire.

They are old but what else has the same combination of peak grip, street usability, consistent performance over many heat cycles and price? As a weekend warrior, I want a grippy tire that can provide peak performance consistently over several track days. This allows me to work on driving without having the tire peak and fall off relatively fast.

A NT01 should be arguably grippier than a RS4, provide similar street manners and consistent performance over time. Plus its also cheap.

^^ Agreed.

NT01 is the perfect tire for HPDEs and what the OP is looking for. You cant get a better well rounded tire.
RE71r is amazing but wont give the same level of grip throughout its life like the NT01. RS3/4s are great as well just not the same grip level as the other two.

You really cant go wrong with any of these. I myself would only use Re71rs out of the 3 as I dont drive my S on the street.
Hoosiers and Z214s for time attack what I use now.
