Damn, Hayashi's story about the casino and the "bad luck" sponge on the floor is ghoulish. I like it!

At the "Fastest Track in the West", Willow Springs, the 240Z was only 0.157 seconds a lap faster on average. Phew!

Does anyone know the final results? The OTC page hasn't been updated (neither has Doug's page)...

Looking at the results, the winning T3 S2K was generally faster than the E46 M3 in T2 and about a match for the Z06s and 996 Turbo in T1. Damn that's impressive driving!

PS: Keith from Flyin' Miata wrote that the class winning 240Z that beat Krazik has a $27,000 engine. <link>

PSS: "The Datsun that won our class was running a $27,000 engine that had been moved back 5" and down 4" for better weight distribution. This also includes a Motec ECU, custom intake manifold and a sequential gearbox. Of course, the car was well sorted and very well driven. They finished eighth overall."

<link>

I suppose major mods like that have to be done for a 30 year old design to make it competitive to the lightened, etc, S2000. Probably a good job overall for the Datsun guys.
