Quick release steering wheel
Thanks for the replies guys. I didn't think about the racing bucket. I used to run an IT MR2 with a full cage and it was actually easier to get in and out with the wheel on because it gave you a "handle." I have been in other cars that it needed to come off. I guess I was just having a major brain fart.
Strike, my Swift SE3/DB6 racecar is very much like the cars you drove at Derek Daly in December. It's so tight that when I'm wearing my full multi-layer drivers suit I can't put the wheel on until my pit crew gets my harness all hooked up. There's no way that I can even put my own belts on.
Krazik, make sure you pad anything on the cage you might hit with your arms or helmet. I had my bell rung BAD when I found a one inch place without the padding, and I was wearing a helmet.

I was actually looking into it as an anti-theft deterrent. I know they can still tow your car away, but if they look inside the car and see no steering wheel, I doubt they'll even attempt to hotwire it. I know it has an immobilizer, but not all the thieves know that. They tried to steal my car this way!
Of course, you have to lug the wheel around to have this work.

I have a removable Momo wheel in the Exige. This comes in handy getting into the car, but I like the wheel on when getting out because it provides something to push off of.
Although getting in and out of the Lotus is much different than getting in and out of the S2000!!
